AN-BP anorexia nervosa-binge-purging type, AN-R anorexia nervosa-restricting type, BN bulimia nervosa; disorders with onset in childhood/adolescence comprise Asperger syndrome, combined disorder of conduct and emotions, conduct disorders, elective mutism, emotional disorders of childhood, reactive attachment disorder, stutter, tics; intelligence: above average = IQ > 115, average = IQ 85–114, below average = IQ 70–84; Mdn = median; Q1 = 1st Quartile, Q3 = 3rd Quartile, SD = standard deviation; personality disorder traits: since patients were younger than 18 years, personality disorders were diagnosed as personality disorder traits if all criteria except age were met; significant p-values < 0.05 are bold; please note, that this sample description resembles the one in Arnold et al. [32] since the same sample was analyzed
